All people want to be saved. They want to save their souls and take part in the eternal kingdom of Jesus Christ. And so they are looking to find salvation but more often, they do not know where to look or find the Savior Jesus Christ.

If people consult the Word of God and ask, as the guard at Philippi asked Apostle Paul and Silas. "What must I do to be saved?" will get the correct answer: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your family." Acts 16, 31. The guard of Philippi believed in Christ and followed the Word of God and "was baptized immediately he and all those who were with him." Acts 16, 33. Along with the house of Lydia became the church of Philippi.

When our Lord Jesus Christ sent the apostles to preach, ordered them: "Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned.” Mark 16, 15-16. Man must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God who came to earth to be crucified for my own and for your sins. If a man does not believe in Jesus Christ that is the Son of God who came to earth to reveal us the truth of the Gospel and to be sacrificed to redeem us from the condemnation of death and give us eternal life, can not be saved .

The question is automatic: "Should we do good works?" Of course we have to do good works. But before we believe in Jesus Christ, before our rebirth to a new life, every good work, no matter beneficial it may be for other, about ourselves is useless and cannot save us. But when are born again men, believing in Jesus Christ and accepting him as personal savior, driven on the road of good works that are "good and beneficial for people." Therefore, God's Word explains that "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2, 8-10). As proof of our salvation.

What charities does a drug addict, a liar, a lecher, a gambler,or any disrespectful? He must first repent and eliminates all passions and sins of which is enslaved. David writes: "But to the wicked God said, What have you to do to declare my statutes, or that you should take my covenant in your mouth? Seeing you hate instruction, and casts my words behind you." Psalm 50, 16-17. Nobody of course can be saved and become free from his sins and set free from the bonds, if he doesn’t believe in Jesus Christ who came to earth just for this great work.

In the synagogue our Lord read from Isaiah 61, 1 "The Spirit of the Lord God is on me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;" In order a man to be saved, he doesn’t need to do "works of the law" or other religious duties, but with simplicity to believe in Christ to repent and be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. On the day of Pentecost, as the Apostle Peter declared, "they were pricked in their hearts and said to Peter and the other apostles, What should we do men brothers?" And Peter said to them, "each of you get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2: 37.

So we in Romans we read: " But what said it? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved ".  (Rom 10, 8-9).
